Eh HEM!

My friend forwards an email to me yesterday from "S", the woman who called Maya's old owner about a possible home... and basically said okay to him putting her in the shelter. She took complete credit for this and even sent the pictures I took. I know it shouldn't have bothered me, but emailed my friend back to gripe anyway. She told me she didn't know about what else I had done, so I told her. Then she got pissed. She didn't know he put maya in the shelter and I made him get her out. She also didn't know I paid $260 to get her checked, tested, shots up to date and ear mite medicine. While I appreciate "S" finding her a home, she didn't check on the kitten's health status and almost killed her by saying yes to the pound. My friend also sent a guilt letter to "D", the prior owner, and layed into him about me having to pay all that money. He should have done this like he said he would, but oh well. I got a call from him after work appologizing and offering to pay the bill. After all was said and done, it turned out for the best. Maya got a new home (and new name: Jeri). And I am going to be reinbursed for the money spent. It was worth a week of panicking and a night of lost sleep. :) Helping is good!

That Was Quick

Friday night was interesting. Maya was bounding all over the place, ignoring Trixi's hisses and trying to play with Phoebe. She plays a little too rough so Phoebe just played by herself as Maya watched. By midnight the novelty of saving a cat had worn off and it was time to put her furry ass into the bathroom so we could sleep. I still went in every couple of hours and cuddled her. She really is a doll. Saturday rolled around and Her new mom came by to pick her up. I was kinda sad, but it was for the best. She'd have a big place to romp and play with only one cat to play with. After wishing her well we walked inside and started to clean. I wasn't sure how bad ear mites were but the idea of treating three cats twice a day was too much. By the days end we had wiped, mopped and vaccuumed our apartment. I emailed the pictures I took of Maya to her mom so she could show her off. *sigh* I hope she's happy.
